Knelson Concentrators

With over 500 installations in the Australia/ South East Asia Region and over 3000 worldwide, the Knelson Concentrator is proven as the most efficient unit for free gold recovery. Two models of Knelson Concentrator are available, the Semi-Continuous (Batch) Knelson Concentrator and the Continuous Knelson Concentrator.

Semi-Continuous (Batch) Concentrators (KC)

The semi-continuous (batch) Knelson Concentrator is the most widely utilized centrifugal gravity concentration device in the industry with. The semi-continuous Knelson Concentrator has been successfully applied in the recovery of gold (incl. fine gold), platinum, silver, mercury and native copper.

Knelson Concentrators combine centrifuge enhanced gravitational force with a patented bed fluidization process to provide unmatched performance in the recovery of precious metals. The concentrators are fully automated and are available in a full range of model sizes suitable for laboratory testing, in field exploration, small to medium scale production and even high tonnage open pit mining. The semi-continuous (batch) Knelson Concentrator is available in three different models:

> Extended Duty (XD) The XD model was specifically designed to withstand the severe operating conditions inherent to hard-rock milling circuit.

> Centre Discharge (CD) The CD model is the gravity concentrator of choice for most alluvial mining operations where conditions are generally less severe than those present in hard rock mill environments.

> Manual Discharge (MD) The MD model (Lab and pilot-scale Knelson Concentrators) is the standard in all state-of-the-art metallurgical laboratories around the world.

Continuous Variable Discharge Concentrators (CVD)

The patented Continuous Variable-Discharge (CVD) concentrator was developed to address specific mineral recovery applications which are amenable to enhanced gravity separation but, due to comparatively high content of target mineral, are not practical for conventional batch-type concentration methods. The Knelson CVD concentrator is also the only continuous-type centrifugal concentrator available that utilizes Knelson's widely proven patented fluid-bed technology. While CVD technology is suitable to selected precious metal recovery applications the technology is primarily utilized as a rougher concentrator used in the bulk recovery of various base metals and industrial minerals.
The continuous-type technology differs from the batch-type technology by delivering a continuous stream of concentrate. The CVD will discharge the concentrate while simultaneously processing fresh feed, whereas semi-continuous (batch-type) units must be stopped intermittently to remove concentrate.
